Little Maggi is adorable, but has some boo boos. Please read carefully and view the photos, so that you can decide if these are issues you can live with. She is a final sale- returns not accepted. Maggi was created from the sold out limited edition “Maggi” sculpt by Natali Blick.
Maggi measures about 23” and weighs a little over 6 pounds. She was painted with Ultimate Fusion paints in what I call my Ivory Rose complexion. She has a fair skin tone with subtle mottling, shading, veining, blushing, and all creases detailed. I took pictures at different times of the day so you will see some photos appear warmer than others- her skin tone is pretty neutral, but leans towards cooler. I wanted her to have the big dark eyes and pale skin often seen in images depicting babies from the Victorian/Edwardian era—and she does!
She has light/medium painted brown hair in a baby style, delicate barely there painted brows, applied (glued) upper lashes and painted lower lashes. Her eyes are dark brown German glass. Her nails have been tipped and sealed. She has a gloss applied in areas that are typically moist such as the inner ear, nose, tear ducts, and lips. Elsewhere she has Soft Touch varnish to protect the paint- so she still feels smooth. Her flaw is the fingertips on her open hand- the vinyl was not completely smooth and did not want to take paint well. This is most obvious on the thumb as pictured. I applied matte varnish and repainted, but it was still not even. This does not stand out unless you are looking for it, but is unfortunately there. Still I think Maggi is very sweet!
Her body is cloth and she has full vinyl limbs. She is weighted with fine glass beads and poly-fil. She can sit up with some support. She has a strong magnet inside for her pacifier and should be kept away from sensitive electronic devices such as pacemakers.
I will be sending her with the vintage 1930’s cotton dress she is pictured in (tagged size one year), but is like a modern 3-6 months. It shows some wear and mending, but is clean and I find old baby things charming. She will also come with the ruffled body suit and Woodland Creatures headband/tieback, the floral sleep and play suit in fall colors, diaper, three additional headbands, peachy pink muslin swaddle blanket, and the magnetic pacifier pictured. As well as her certificate of authenticity, care instructions, and art studio certificate.
