Offered in this listing is an adorable baby girl created from the Realborn Laila sculpt. She is newborn sized at 19” with slightly bent legs and around 4.8 lbs. Laila was painted in many layers using paint made specifically for reborning and imported from Australia. She has fair skin, with mottling, veining, blushing, and crease detailing. Areas of skin that are thin have been carefully shaded. Her nose has been shaded inside and a slight gloss added to all areas that typically appear moist such as the nostrils, inner ear, lips, and the corners of her eyes. Her nails have tiny tips painted and are sealed with a very subtle shine. Laila has medium brown painted hair, delicate painted brows, and rooted golden brown lashes that are sealed inside. The rest of her paint work has varnish to protect it and reduce the development of shine. I took pictures over the course of several days at different times, so you will see some difference in her skin tone in the photos.
I find the standard Realborn Belly plate does not fit most of the Realborns without trimming and then it does not always look in proportion. For Laila I used a non-gendered belly plate that is slightly smaller than a perfect fit would be, but still works well for posing and pictures- I think it fits better than the anatomically correct realborn plates. Laila has full limbs, so is very fun to dress. She will wear newborn in most brands. She is weighted to be a little floppy using fine glass beads and poly-fill and will need head support and handling just like a real infant. Laila does contain a strong magnet for her pacifier, so care should be taken around electronic devices especially pacemakers. Laila is an art doll and is not intended, nor safe for children.
Laila is offered at a special discounted price because she has a small scratch in her vinyl on one leg and under one eye noticeable only under certain lighting and you have to be looking for it. I also used a new kind of speckle mottle sponge on her and it left too small of dots for my taste. I tried to show this in photos, but will send more if you need them as she is a final sale with no returns. Still she is a pretty girl and without these small imperfections would be 45.00 more than her listed price.
