Kevin (Taite sculpt by Denise Pratt) is a 16 inch African American preemie weighing 3 pounds thirteen ounces. He is the size of a baby at 32 weeks gestation. His bottle and pacifier have been adapted for use specifically with this baby. He comes with magnetic electrodes and a nasal cannula with a pretend Oxygen tank. It will fit and stay relatively well just by tucking behind her ears. The “tape” is fake. Do not use real tape on the baby because the adhesive could harm the paint on her face. He has a special NICU shirt which permits easy access to the hospital equipment.
This is a drink and wet baby with a mechanism specifically designed by me to work with this reborn. He comes with a pacifier and bottle uniquely made for him alone. He has been painted with quality acrylic paints and sealed, but utmost care must be used to assure that dripping water does not constantly affect the surface. Use a drool cloth or bib when feeding him. He is messy just like a real baby just learning to suck a bottle. His anatomically correct belly plate is permanently attached and cannot be removed due to the drink/wet mechanism inside him.
His head is a little less floppy because of the mechanics inside, but it still can be safely turned from side to side using gentle care. The cloth of his body has been lined with waterproof vinyl and permits him to wet his diaper with no danger of damaging the insides or developing mold or mildew. If using disposable diapers, his bottom should dry well on its own. Although this baby is virtually waterproof, do not immerse him in water. Do not use any of the fake formula recipes; use only clear water to avoid clogging his parts or causing materials to gum up the tubing and corrode the insides.
Kevin comes with all the items mentioned above including a fluffy blue blanket, 2 preemie size diapers, a preemie onesie, a preemie size footed pajama, a specially made NICU shirt, and a removable magnetic umbilical cord with clamp. Also included are a special instructions sheet, a birth certificate signed by me with an empty space for a name of your choosing, and an ID bracelet for you to include your own surname just like the ones in the hospital..
The hospital style bassinet is not included. It is a photo prop. You can make your own with the right size and style of clear storage bin and a pillow.
