This baby girl stole my heart the minute I saw her. I just love her thoughtful expression. She was created from a Berenguer mini baby. She weighs 1 pound, 1 ounce and is 9 1/2 inches long with her legs bent. She is NOT A TOY but a one of a kind collectible piece of art and should be treated as such. SHE DOES NOT MEET CHILD SAFETY STANDARDS and should not be given to children. Elena has been hand painted with many ultra thin layers of polymer paints to give her realistic skin tones. She has been mottled, shaded and blushed in all the right places. Her hair is a combination of painted and rooted with premium mohair. Her eyebrows and lashes have been hand painted a single hair at a time. Like the big kids, she has tiny veins, finger and toe nails. She even has a miniature tummy plate. She started out as a full bodied play doll. As a result, she had no neck flange. I wanted to give her a cloth body so I used a head plug to attach her head to her body. The body itself is a soft doe suede and has been filled with encapsulated tiny glass beads and polyfil for realistic weighting. She has full arms and legs and wears 1-2 pound micro preemie clothes or 10 inch baby doll clothes. Her entire layette, except for her diaper, was made by me. She contains no magnets and is safe around pacemakers and other electronic equipment.
Elena will come home wearing her diaper and pink crocheted vest, wrapped in her soft fleece blanket. Also included will be her bamboo thread crocheted diaper set with matching hat; hair accessories; birth certificate; care instructions and some little extras. I have left the baby name blank for you to fill in if you choose to change it.
