The doll featured has been created from the kit, Aspen sculpted by Claire Taylor. It is a unique kit and I loved reborning her. It is a delightfully beautiful kit representing a newborn baby. It was a joy bringing Aspen to such a lifelike appearance. * The weight on Aspen is 5 1/2 pounds and she is approximately 19 inches. Weight and length are close approximates. * I have used only Genesis heat set paints on Aspen. She has beautifully realistic blushing, mottling and veining details. I gave her a delicate baby look manicure. The doll has been sealed with matte varnish. She was given a light mottled complexion. She is a very fair skin tone reborn. * Aspen was not given a magnetic pacifier but her open mouth can hold a modified pacifier. Please be aware my doll has not been created to be a play toy for a small child. It should be treated as a valuable collector item. With proper care my doll will stay beautiful for many years to come. Also if you have any pets that like to chew use extra caution.
*** Aspen has non-jointed full arms and legs. Her head and limbs can be carefully turned for posing. Her head is floppy as a newborn would be and needs to be supported when picking up and setting down. She was given a doe cloth body. She has been weighted with glass beads and quality fiber fill. She is a joy to hold and was made slightly floppy to feel like a real baby. My absolute favorite type of kit to work with is one with open hands like this beautiful little one has. They feel so adorable to hold their little hands.
** I gave Aspen an incredible head of directionally rooted beautiful blonde mohair. It is quality mohair from Slumberland Nursery. She has a very full head of hair that is fine as can be. If you enjoy or don't mind a bit of care making this angel look incredible she is for you. When not moistened and left not styled her head of hair reminds me of a dandelion that is ready to be blown to the wind. I have rooted it with a definite direction. I used a very fine needle that only picked up 1 or 2 hairs at a time. I did leave it slightly longer for styling. The hair has a definite swirl. While it is very fine it does not tangle and can be moistened and carefully styled. It has been sealed from within. Aspen also was given rooted wispy eyelashes from the same mohair. She has very realistic painted eyebrows. I had a blast giving her this adorable head of lots of blonde hair. I think it fits her fair skin tones perfectly. Her eyelashes are very securely glued in but I always advise being careful when putting clothing over the dolls head.
The dolls layette will include the clothing she is seen wearing. Please be aware that because some of the clothing has a larger neck her cloth body cannot be covered as well as with some outfits. I find this happens with the reborn dolls and the normal clothing for a real baby. I will include a hand crocheted cocoon wrap. I will include the certificate of authenticity and a care sheet with my advice for keeping the doll in pristine condition. No other items will be included. (I will create a custom Certificate of Adoption if requested. It will include the name of the doll (let me know if you would like a different name rather than Aspen) and the name of the adopting parent. (no other items will be included.) Also, a note about the white one piece with the lavender trim. It is a bit large on the doll and it is a designer outfit by Wendy Bellisimo. I believe I may have purchased this as pre-owned. It is like new. The kit came with a partial tummy plate which will not be included in the layette. I thought it was awkward to pose the doll in and opted not to paint it.
Please be aware that I DO NOT accept any returns or exchanges. Because of the higher price of this kit I have to price the doll higher than if it were a Realborn kit. The kit alone ran $127.00. Also, be advised that the skin tones and colors may appear different depending on computers or phones. She is very fair skinned with subtle mottling and tones.
