This listing is for baby Huxley created from the limited edition “Princess Huxley” sculpt by Andrea Arcello. I have had this kit stashed away because she came to me from the dealer with a few flaws. I decided to get her out and paint her and I think she turned out just as adorable as the other four Huxleys I have painted! However, since this one had a few flaws in the kit, she is priced lower than my other Huxley dolls. Please read her description and view the pictures where I have indicated the flaws with an arrow.
Huxley has a cloth body with full vinyl limbs. She is about 22” with slightly bent legs and weighs about 5.8 pounds. I have weighted her with enclosed fine glass beads and poly-fil. You can turn her head and limbs for posing and she will sit up with some support. She is not floppy like a newborn, but more like an older baby.
I took pictures at various times of the day in different places to try to capture how she looks in different lighting, so you will see some differences in skin tone in my pictures. She has a fair roses and cream complexion which was created using Ultimate Fusion. I shaded thin skin areas and added veining and other details to give her a lifelike appearance. Her nails have painted tips and have been sealed. She has medium brown painted hair and brows.
Her dark brown Eyeco eyes are framed with applied (glued) upper lashes and painted lower lashes. I have sealed her vinyl with soft touch varnish to protect her paint. I also added gloss in places typically moist. She has a strong magnet inside for her pacifier and should be kept away from sensitive electronic devices such as pacemaker.
Nearly all Huxley kits have a rough spot in the vinyl on the baby’s head. This makes the paint a little less smooth in this area (see my arrow pointing to that spot). This Huxley kit also had a pink spot in her vinyl (also see the arrow in the close up photo). I alerted the kit dealer and was told to work around it (I was not sure I could, which is why I left this kit sit for awhile). However, as it turns out it blends with the cheek color pretty well and probably would not really be noticed. While not flaws in the reborning, these little things are there and if I were a buyer I would want to know. If these are not issues you can live with, please pass her up.
She will come with her certificate of authenticity, art studio birth certificate, care instructions, magnetic pacifier, sleeper, 1930’s dress, bib, sweater, and booties (over 80 years old so a few flaws, but so sweet), along with a diaper, and a blanket that is not pictured. Other items are props and are NOT included.
