Hello! My name is Maxine and I live in the U.K. I created OOAK artist teddybears for many years and then one day a teddy collector I knew asked me if I would swap one of my bears for a reborn doll instead of making a payment for the teddybear. I agreed as I was curious. I received a beautiful rooted Serenity by LLE!!
I began to collect reborn dolls from then on (around three years ago in 2020) and I continued making teddies but then around two years ago I started to have a go at making reborns myself! I became more and more involved in the reborn side of things and earlier this year I decided to create only them.
I have won many accolades in the teddybear world and it was time to give something else a try. I make mostly alternative babies as I have a huge love for colour and texture. I also love animals so often I add appendages to reborns to create beaks and horns!
When I was young I studied fine art at art school so I have a love of painting. There’s nothing more I love than creating detailed works of art.
I don’t take on commissions as I prefer to do my own thing and have so many ideas!! I am very happy that I found reborns, it’s truly the medium that I adore.
