I am the artist at Jewelbabies Nursery and Artist Dolls, Julie, and I have been an artist my entire life, after 9-11 impacted my family greatly I had to find a different way to support my family and self taught the art of reborning. I have since changed the name of my business to reflect the fact that they are “artist dolls” and are hand made. Numerous fake dolls from China claiming to be reborns have infected the marketplace and confused buyers. My business name went from Jewelbabies Nursery to Jewelbabies Nursery and Artist Dolls.

Rest assured, quality and love go into every baby I make. Attention to detail and achieving realism is what drives me. I work with a magnifying glass, you will never see a Jewelbabies Artist doll with built up paint in creases, sloppy blending or barely painted. I only purchase quality 1 st grade materials available. I create 3D skin tone and create depth with mottling, veining, texture layers, stork bites and more. I do both hair rooting and painted hair. I am partial to realistically painted hair at the moment, you never have to worry about messy mohair or angora! My babies should last you generations with care.

I have made over 350 babies, been featured in magazines, and have sold them all over the world. I take pride in my quality work as it is so meaningful to me to have people love my art. I have won awards, including a People's Choice Award at an international doll show in Orlando. I have taught classes and helped others get into the reborn industry as well. Your support for small business is very important to me and I believe, it is the wave of the future. Our society has been manipulated and disappointed with big box stores in so many ways it is wonderful to see people supporting small business. Your choices help families survive! Thank you in advance!

I use numerous techniques in creating artist babies. I am always learning, even with over 15 years experience, I still learn, I also invest in classes, doll shows, online courses because to live without learning is not living at all. I feel like every artist should continue to learn and develop their own techniques and not solely rely on others to show them the way. This leads to new avenues, new skills, new techniques etc and furthers our art to keep it fun and interesting.
I combine my custom techniques with other techniques that work for me.

I do make custom babies, portrait babies, memory babies and I also will accept layaways. My babies start at 400 and go up from there depending on the sculpt and other details chosen. The availability of the sculpt has a lot to do with the pricing as well as the details in the baby.
My babies are not inexpensive, I create high end babies with emphasis on heirloom quality, cuddliness and realism.

I do have a facebook page, , social media promotion is most certainly my weakness. I find it’s very time consuming and I would prefer to use my time creating rather than being online. Please go to my Facebook business page and share it, like it and comment. I will do giveaways in the future once it gains more viewership.

On a personal level, I am married, going in 32 years, we have 3 kids and almost 2 grand babies. We live in beautiful Williamsburg Virginia and are Virginia natives but spent many years in New England and out west. We love to travel our country, we love coastal life and western life, and have an active life. We do have pets but they are not allowed in the creation room nor allowed to play with the babies. We are a non smoking home. Always.
