Don't let the amazingly deter you from "adopting" her. I have seen used ones at much higher prices. . The quality is excellent on my doll. It has taken me many hours to create her. You will not be disappointed.
Up for "adoption" is my incredible version of the awake Realborn kit, Tessa. My one of a kind doll was brought to life with many transparent layers of Genesis Heat Set Paint. This is the only type of paint I have used on this doll. She has several layers of mottled and skin tone layers to achieve this most realistic looking skin. I have finished the paint with a final layer of medium matte varnish to add dimension and protect the paint. I have given the doll very subtle veining and delicate capillaries. I am very detail oriented when creating a reborn. It takes me weeks to complete one of my babies. I have given her a baby look manicure and sealed with glazing gel.
I have only used fine quality items in creating this doll. I purchased the kit from Bountiful Baby and I will include the Certificate of Authenticity. It is a first quality kit. I have weighted the baby doll to a very realistic weight of 6 and 1/2 pounds. The weight feels very realistic. She is floppy and cuddly when held. I used fine glass beads to give the doll a good amount of movement when held.. I enclosed the glass beads in a strong stocking and doubled the stocking to prevent any type of leakage. I gave the doll a very adorable bottom using fine glass beads the same way. I used baby fat pellets for her tummy. I am always amazed at how real my dolls look and feel. I love reborning and put all of my skill into the creation. The doll feels very cuddly when held and moves and poses very realistic. She is a joy to hold in your arms.
Her head needs to be supported like that of a newborn. The doll's limbs were weighted with fine glass particles and sealed off to prevent any leakage. I decided on this doll not to add any additional weight into the head. The head is heavily filled with quality fiber fill. I capped the head and added a plastic ring so the head can be easily turned. The limbs can be CAREFULLY moved for posing and dressing. The limbs are full length so the doll can wear a large variety of clothing. She wears newborn size or 0-3 months. Be aware that with some clothing items her cloth torso may show. I used a first quality cloth body recommended for the kit from Bountiful Baby.
For Tessa I opted to give her a darling head of painted hair. I've used Genesis Heat Set Paint in a dark color. It takes me many hours to complete a painted head of this quality. I use brushes with only the fewest of bristles. I paint layer upon layer to achieve a 3 D affect. I've given Tessa a very newborn looking style with lots of baby hair and lots of scalp showing through. I love the more slightly balding look on a doll representing a newborn. I gave the painted hair a final coat of thick medium painted in the direction of the hairs. The eyebrows were painted with the same paint. The brows were also given a light coat of thick medium. For this beautiful doll I opted to give her open eyes rooted eyelashes rather than hand applied glued on eyelashes. This was a very time consuming task but I love the wispy looking results. The doll was given very beautiful cobalt blue polymer eyes. She looks so real I almost expect her to blink.
Please be aware that my dolls are not meant to be a play toy for small children. I am not responsible for damage to the doll caused by misuse. I decided to give Tessa a magnetic pacifier. Please use caution around any persons or equipment that may be sensitive to a strong magnet. The pacifier that I used holds the magnet in the little compartment at the front. I love this type of magnet as it sits closer to the face. A placed a magnet inside of the head behind the mouth to hold onto the paci. Also, is you have any chewing pets please use care please keep the doll out of their reach. The limbs contain fine glass beads.
Because of the low price the doll is offered at Tessa will arrive to her new "parent" with two outfits of my choosing. . I will include the Certificate of Authenticity. I include a care sheet with my suggestions for keeping the doll in pristine condition. Her magnetic pacifier is included. I include an extra pamper (just in case) and she will be wrapped in a receiving blanket. No other items are included .
