***I am a collector, not an artist. This doll is from my personal collection.*** Please read the ENTIRE description as there are a couple of flaws that I am disclosing. I have discounted the price accordingly (by hundreds). She is a very beautiful and realistic doll and perfectly weighted. I am having a hard time parting with this OOAK special girl because I know I won’t find another, especially not at this price point, but I just seem to prefer painted hair on my babies and need to sell for a medical expense. My loss is truly your gain.

For adoption is one of the five prototypes of the Amara sculpt by Melody Hess. She has been beautifully brought to “life” by the very talented prototype artist and sculptor, Brandy Coffey-Coffey House Creations. She is 20” long with full arms and legs, rooted hair and lashes, and weighs around 7 lbs. She wears larger newborn to 0-3 months size clothing. Her vinyl is super flexible and, while she’s not a silicone doll, her flexibility and softness of hands and feet is much better than most vinyl sculpts I’ve felt. Her fingers on her open hand are flexible enough to bend to touch her little palm. Her hair is a thicker rich brown with beautiful curl that can be brushed straighter with a little water or mohair conditioner. Amara’s head is heavy and floppy and needs support. Her “skin” is varnished smooth and is not textured at all. She has no magnet, but takes a modified (trimmed) baby pacifier as her mouth is open. She is truly a perfect size and a dream to hold! She snuggles so perfectly onto one’s shoulder.

Full disclosure: I did not like the longer lanugo/hair on her face because I couldn’t get it to lie down. I shaved it so it is now mostly gone. There are a few short hairs and a little “stubble. I took closeups. It is barely noticeable in person or in pictures as I magnified it greatly by zooming in. There are also a couple of circled places in the photos showing small scratches. The one spot I made to look like a baby scratch. Honestly, these things detract very little and any artist, if desired, could probably touch them up fairly easily. I have discounted the price very significantly to account for these small flaws. I personally still prefer her without the lanugo. The slight sheen across her nose and eyes was put there purposefully by the artist to add realism and is not a flaw.

Amara is a gorgeous doll and will come home with her artist’s paperwork (there is no COA as Melody did not send them out with the prototypes). Her artist paperwork very clearly identifies her as a prototype. She also has Melody Hess’ name on her neck. I have included a screenshot from MacPherson’s in the pictures showing a shot of her as one of the prototypes. She will also come with a couple modified pacis, a plush blanket, an elephant stuffed animal personalized with the name “Holly Aerin” on it, and a couple gently used outfits of my choice. Some of the items in the pictures are props and may not be included.
