Up for adoption is my version of the Celeste kit offered by Bountiful Baby. This is one of the older kits and has 3/4 jointed length limbs. It has been a long time since I've done a doll with 3/4 length limbs so I want to make you aware of the difference from a doll with full length limbs. I love this kit and think it has the sweetest little face with her tongue sticking out. Her limbs, hands and feet have such amazing details. With the limbs being jointed they is much more movement to the limbs than with full length limbs and tend to fall to the side of the doll. . When the doll is not dressed it is very noticeable. With clothing on it is much better. The jointed limbs allow for easier dressing but since they have a cloth cap the type of clothing is limited to items that will cover the cloth caps.
I adore the way the kit took the genesis heat set paint. The mottling on the limbs and head looks so realistic. I gave Celeste lots of baby details. Lots of blushing, subtle veining, delicate capillaries and gentle undertones where the skin would be thinner. The finger and toe nail beds are beautifully finished.
I weighted the doll to have a realistic feeling weight to her. She weighs slightly over 5 pounds. The cloth body that I chose for her is one recommended by Bountiful Baby. It is a very well made cloth body. I've weighted the limbs with fine glass beads and quality fiber fill. The cloth body is weighted with plastic poly pellets and quality fiber fill. The limbs can be posed very nicely and babies head can be turned.
Since Celeste looks to me like a little newborn I decided to give her very fine blonde painted hair. I have used air dry Fusion paints. The undercoat of painted hair has a slightly strawberry blonde tone while the upper hairs are a very towhead blonde. I loved working with this paint as it gives the look of real textured hair. Her head has a slightly balding look as the strokes of hair sit close to baby's head. Delicate veining and blushing can be seen through the hair. I gave baby Celeste very wispy blonde rooted mohair eyelashes. I think the shade of mohair looks perfect with her coloring.
My doll is not meant to be a play toy for a small child. Also, if you have chewing pets use care around the doll as the limbs contain fine glass beads.

Baby will receive the clothing she is seen wearing in the pictures. She wears newborn sizes and possibly 0-3 months. I will include an extra diaper, receiving blanket, customer certificate of adoption and my care sheet with suggestions for keeping the doll pristine.
