Naomi is a darling baby sculpted by the very talented Denise Pratt and reborn by me, Carmen McNair. She is what I call a hybrid baby as she was made using the head from the Naomi sculpt and the limbs from Charlotte – both of these sculpts were sculpted by Denise Pratt so they are very complimentary. She has a light ethnic complexion (can be Hispanic or light AA) with mottling like that of a few week-old newborn. Her beautiful darkest black-brown hair is carefully micro rooted to look very natural. Her finger and toe nails are gently tipped to look brand new and NOT as if she just came home from the beauty salon. She goes home to her new Mommy wearing her adorable pink PJs. Her layette also includes all of the outfits shown in the final photo, a toy to accompany her home on her journey, and a fresh diaper. Her package will include an adoption certificate and care instructions from me.

About Me :
My name is Carmen McNair and although I have only been reborning since September of 2010, I am no stranger to the doll world. In 1997, I took classes to learn how to make porcelain dolls from scratch. Always having been a doll collector, making my own was so exciting! I immersed myself into this newly found hobby with everything I had. I bought three kilns and 1000s of porcelain doll molds. For many years, I sold my creations online through my website.
Then in 2009, I discovered reborn babies on eBay and completely fell in love with these babies that look so real! I knew I had to try to make one of my own. Back then, the art form had not yet evolved to where it is today and my attempts were discouraging. RIT dye and stencil paints were used to color the vinyl and the slightest mistake ruined your doll. It was not until September of 2010 that I took a class in WA State that taught me how to use Genesis Heat Set Paints to create beautiful life-like babies. Since then, I continue to take classes from experts in the field and through online classes. I strive to make each baby better than the previous.
In June of 2011, I was honored to have won First Place in the Novice Division of the IRDA Reborn Contest at the IRDA Conference in CA. I was so excited when my Serenity Fairy was adopted by Shawna Clymer, the artist who originally sculpted this beautiful fairy. It was quite an honor to know that my fairy baby was desired by her original sculptor.
I participate in multiple forums and Reborning groups. I am a proud member of IRDA (International Reborn Doll Artists), REAL (Reborning Excellence and Artful Learning), and the Bountiful Baby Forum. Most recently, I, together with a couple of artist friends, created our own forum (Artists of Reborn Creations or ARC) to help other artists perfect their techniques and fellowship with one another. In these groups, we all work together to learn new techniques in the reborning process and help new artists with any questions or difficulties they might have.
Thank you for allowing me to share my newest creation with you!
