19 inches (48.2 centimeters)

Gemma by Donna RuBert
July 15, 2017
19” long – sleeping
¾ limbs

All of my dolls are painted with Genesis heat set paints, which is applied methodically, layer upon
layer to create a translucent quality like a real baby's skin. This Gemma has mottling, blushing, and veins. I seal the paint with a light matte/satin finish. Her hair is hand painted. Her eyelashes are hand rooted.

Gemma’s soft doe suede body has chest and bottom gathers. She is weighted with find glass beads and poly-fill. She is not over-stuffed, but has a snugly, soft feel. My nursery name is embroidered on her bottom. There is one magnet behind her lips for a pacifier. She weights just under 4 lbs.

Gemma will go home with:

1. hot pink polka-dotted onesie
2. white onesie
3. pink headband bow
4. floral, footed sleeper
5. pacifier
6. floral receiving blanket
7. bracelet
8. polka-dotted sweater
9. designer, floral diaper

Kimber's Kiddos Nursery I have been creating reborns now for 3 years, but my "craftiness" began in the 1970's. I have always loved to work with my hands and create things. Sewing, crafts, gardening, building projects and now reborn dolls. I have a talented dear friend and mentor who keeps me on my toes. Her passion and creativeness inspires me as I continue to learn and grow in the art world of reborning baby dolls.
