For your consideration is my version of this adorable larger doll. The kit is sculpted by Donna RuBert for Bountiful Baby and reborned by myself.
The doll is approximately 25 inches in height and weighs approximately 9 pounds. It is a heavy doll. I've put many days and weeks into creating this unique baby doll. The doll's full limbs and head attach to a cloth body. The doll has a partial chest and back torso that lays over the cloth body itself. The lower part of the doll's torso is the cloth body.
The doll poses best when in a sitting up position. It can be posed in a crawling position but, in my opinion, looks best when sitting up. The doll does not pose well when laying down.
I've painted Kenzie with the skin tones of an older infant. It has taken layer upon layer of genesis heat set paint to produce the skin tones that I wanted for the doll. The doll has soft sweet blushing, subtle veining, and creases and wrinkles that have been accentuated for realism. The toe and finger nails have been painted to give the appearance of clipped baby nails.
I have given Kenzie a head of painted hair in darker brown tones. The style has a baby mop on the top part of the head and lots of baby hair in the temple area. I've left the temple area with less hair than the top, sides and back. I gave the hair a layer of medium varnish to resemble individual hairs.
I gave Kenzie hand rooted mohair eyelashes instead of applied lashes. The mohair has a thicker diameter than kid mohair and is a dark brown. I've left the lashes a bit longer as I like that look. The doll's beautiful eyes are from Bountiful Baby and are created specifically for the reborns.
The doll is large and heavy and can be a bit awkward to handle. She wears six month sizes. Because of the way the doll's mouth is she can hold a modified pacifier without using magnets.
Please purchase only if serious about the doll. I do not accept any returns on my dolls. If you have any further questions about the way the doll was painted, photographed or assembled please contact me. While I am my own worst critic when it comes to my babies I always point out the things that I want a buyer to be aware of. The eye lashes on the doll are not as fine as I normally would like them to be. Also, I feel the same about the painted hair on the doll. While I wanted a very dark head of hair in some areas on the head, it is not as detailed and fine as I normally can accomplish. I do not consider this a "boo boo" baby at all and I am pointing this out just to describe the doll as best to my ability.
The doll will be great to shop for as she wears the larger six month sizes. I would recommend clothing that does not pull over the doll's head as the head itself is very large.
The doll will arrive at her new home with the clothing she is seen wearing in the pictures. the modified pacifier, a custom certificate of adoption with the name chosen for the doll, the name of the adopting parent and the details of the doll's weight and length. The date of the adoption is normally the date the doll is purchased but if different date is required, please advise me. No other items or props will be included.
