This stunning reborn baby doll was created from the kit Celeste by the very talented Cindy Musgrove. I have chosen the name of Emmalynn for this amazing beauty and will refer to her with that name throughout the auction. I absolutely adore the way this doll looks and feels. The details are as delicate and precious as can be. I love working with Cindy's amazing kits and Celeste was sheer joy to bring to this lifelike look.
I've used only Genesis heat set paint to give Emmalynn true life-like skin tones. I wanted to give the doll the skin tones of a newborn little one. She has sweet blotchy skin tones and stork bites. I've worked on my little baby doll for many hours, days and weeks to make her this detailed. I gave her very subtle veining, sweet mottling, realistic painted eyebrows and many sweet details.
Emmalynn was painted with layer upon layer of soft translucent skin tones. She has very soft skin colors on his sweet little mouth. Her expression is exquisite with her little tongue sticking out. I've finished with a layer of air dry gloss. I OPTED NOT TO GIVE EMMALYNN ANY MAGNETS. She is completed and I will not be adding any magnets to her mouth.
The doll's nose was not opened but shaded for realism instead. .
This beautiful closed eyed baby doll was given very delicate and realistic looking rooted eyelashes. The mohair is from Slumberland Nursery and matches her beautiful head of painted hair.
Emmalynn has soft subtle wispy eyebrows. The lashes are sweet and wispy and give her little sleeping eyes the perfect look..
I feel that Emmalynn is truly one of a kind. Each reborn artist has their own techniques. The same kit can look so different from artist to artist. All items used in the making of Emmalynn are new and first quality. When I hold this beautiful little baby doll in my arms I find myself rocking her just as though she were a real infant.
I spent countless hours painting Emmalynn with a delicate head of baby fine hair. I lay down layer and layer to build up depth and realism. Painted hair on a reborn baby doll is perfect for someone that likes to put lots of hats and caps on the dolls. The little style will always look neat and sweet. I added a layer of matt varnish to give the baby hairs a very realistic look. While I do both rooting and painted hair I love the effects I can get when I take my paint brush in hand. I can get very lovely swirls, crown and fine baby hairs. The brushes I use have only the very fewest bristles so I get a very fine line. Most people are so surprised when I tell them baby's hair is painted.
My home is completely smoke free. I try to include everything covering the making of my dolls. If you have any questions please contact me. Please be aware my doll is not meant to be a play toy for small children. Not recommended for children under the age of 13. With careful care my dolls will last for many years.
I am always very precise with the finger and toe nails. They are very realistic looking. I use a magnifier and paint them over and over until I am happy with the result. I've used air dry gloss to finish them off. Baby's hands and feet have been blushed sweetly and each crease, fold and wrinkled has been shaded for realism. Emmalynn has the most precious hands and feet. I love working with open fingers on the hands on my dolls. The toes on Emmalynn's little feet are just so precious.
Emmalynn was given the sweetest little body. Coming from Bountiful Baby it is so well made. The arms and legs are 3/4 length and jointed. She is easy to dress and her limbs have lovely movement to them. Emmalynn is a bigger baby doll weighing in at 7 pounds even. Her limbs are weighted with fine glass beads. The torso is weighted with plastic poly pellets and excellent quality fiber fill. Her head is weighted with plastic poly pellets and quality fiber fill. She, as I mentioned, is a good sized baby doll and feels so real and so cuddly. Her realism is amazing when held. No sand has been used in the making of the baby doll. While her head is not overly floppy I would still recommend supporting it when picking her and setting her down.
Regardless of the cost of the kit I am working on I strive to give each one of my reborns the same amount of time, patience, attention and talents. I use all of my skills to create a doll I can be proud of and you will love to own. I do not do any custom reborns but choose the kits that touch my heart with their beauty.
