Gus is a basic play doll that I purchased and made over with reborn paintwork and added details- for a holiday gift option that is budget-friendly- he is created by City Toy company- -3/4 limb vinyl- he has an under outfit with a hoodie, that stays on and is part of his body, but clothing can be worn over this. (no gender-soft body but comes as a boy )- he was painted in the manner of original reborn artwork before blank kits were available. ***PLEASE NOTE: (this is not a factory-painted doll and went through the entire traditional reborn painting process with the entire body being stripped of factory paint and re-painted in my studio )
The original factory paint was stripped to the base vinyl and completely repainted with full newborn details including - skin tone warmed and blushing. The hair has an original line pattern in the base vinyl-the hair was hand painted and light hair details were added at the hairline and double varnished to protect the finish. Gus has some details such as light mottling, creasing, blushing, hand-painted eyebrows, painted eyelashes, and glossed and lightly tipped nail beds and lips. I use Reborn FX air-dry acrylics and varnishes by MacPherson Arts & Crafts. Weighting has been added to the doll in the form of poly pellet/glass bead mix in the main body- and hands and feet - I also added weight to her head as well and she weighs approx 2lbs. Gus is a cute versatile little baby I created for a budget-friendly option for holiday gift giving and he has been given my full form of reborn work, he would make a great gift for a new or younger collector, a collector who wants something different, etc, or for a budget-friendly therapy doll. As with any reborn art doll intense or rough play is not recommended with him. Gus has handpainted hair, the original hair marks in the vinyl on the head may be visible, as they are permanent, but are blended into his painted hair, and are not a defect in the doll. *Gus does have a magnet for a magnetic pacifier but does not come with one, I recommend the mini Honey Bug pacifiers with reversible magnets - they can be found at any reborn website, that sells reborn kits.
