Real Boy is a doll I made for an art show I participated in at a gallery I belong to. The show was in October and the theme was "What scares you". This doll represented the Uncanny Valley, AI, what is real and what isn't, and ideas and fears we have around gender. (This doll does not have a gender) I used the story of Pinocchio because even though this is a very old story it is still very relevant and helped me convey the imagery and vibe I was looking for.
Real Boy, is a vinyl doll with full limbs (outstretched legs) and a cloth body. This is an older baby but not quite a toddler, about 22 inches long. I weighted legs and body with glass but arms and head were left unweighted for possibility.
This is an art doll. ( I am selling it at this price because I will not be including the chair prop This doll is not meant to be a toy and not intended for littles.)
Skin tone is a vintage medium, deeply shaded, freckled. Eyes are acrylic. Hair is painted in several shades of dark brown and rooted with Russian mohair. Eyelashes are rooted with the same mohair.
This baby is dressed in new and vintage clothing with antique French lace and embellishments. Real boy wears one sock, and has a hand stitched hat.
Real boy has Been modified by me (nose).
This doll is not magnetized.
These are WIP photographs I send the gallery and posted on Instagram. The props went to the show but will not be shipped with the baby. I can send the beetle but it is very fragile and old and did experience a little wear while being returned by the gallery.
A few of the photos were altered for affect for promotion but do represent the doll well.
This baby is for someone who appreciates the unusual.

Feel free to explore my work to be sure this is the perfect baby for you. Although this baby has all the realistic details of a traditional reborn doll this is an art doll.
Real Reborns are crafted one at a time by a reborn artist. What makes these babies amazing and different from a store bought (mass manufactured) doll is that each one is unique and has perfect imperfections. (If a baby does have imperfections that were not intentional the price will reflect that, if I feel it is something that may need to be disclosed we will do that in our description). The goal is for every baby to be unique in its own way, no other baby will be exactly like it.
Please note that I am a deep painter, somewhere on the spectrum of high color. I adore playing with color.
Saint Cloud babies are vinyl with a soft cloth body that is weighted with glass beads. I do not weigh each baby, they are filled to be as realistic as possible. If this is meant to be a therapy doll let me know so I can make the baby lighter for you. The sculpts I use are crafted by artists and purchased from a reputable dealer.
Photography is done in my studio with natural lighting available at the time, if natural light is not available due to weather conditions I will use artificial filtered light. I do my best not to alter photos but from time to time I will include one fun filtered photo. I want you to be able to see what I see. I try to keep photography as honest as we can. I do one photoshoot before I store babies (they are kept protected in a sealed container until they are shipped home).

Babies will come home dressed in pajamas and wrapped in a soft blanket. They will also arrive with a coming home outfit that may or may not be the clothes they were photographed in. I do photograph with some vintage prop clothing from time to time and that will stay in the nursery but the baby will come home in something sweet and well made.
My babies are magnetized with a strong earth magnet, if you have a pacemaker or are dependent on a medical device please let me know so I can remove the magnet.

Make sure this is the baby you really want before you order. I apologize but I DO NOT do customs (at this time), lay-away, hold babies, swap or exchange babies or do trades, we just do not have the bookkeeping to manage that at this time.
From time to time I will lend or rent a baby to a studio, film or TV company. When the baby is returned I will give it a baby spa to freshen them up (they are always returned in perfect condition (that is the agreement). If this is the case I will disclose that and I will adjust the price to reflect that. I can no disclose the movie or film it was used in as I do sign an NDA.
I no longer sell elaborate box opening packages. I find that a lot of new mommies like to shop and nest for things they love. I would also rather spend my time painting babies than shopping for them, I think its a very personal and helps bonding. Saint Cloud does deliver a lovely box suitable for gift giving.
My babies are double checked and photographed at packing, before they go to post to be sure they are complete, undamaged, carefully wrapped and ready for you to love.
All babies are made at Saint Cloud Nursery in a smoke and animal free studio in California.
(I do have a dog in my home but I do not keep any pets in my studio and my studio is separate from my living space)
