Kase is representative of a small newborn with very mottled skin tones. It has taken me many hours, days and weeks to achieve this beautiful look. Her skin is almost transluscent looking. I've used only the genesis heat set paints on my doll. Layer upon layer upon layer of soft thin coats of blushing, skin tones and undertones. I am very detailed when working with my kits and take the time needed to give baby delicate veining, eyelids capillaries and shaded creases and baby folds. I gave this newborn angel a very mottled skin tone which is time consuming, but I adore the results.
I even give the toe and finger nails several different layers of soft natural colors. I carefully paint the nail tips with natural looking tones. I use a magnifier on the tips and will paint them over and over until I am satisfied with the results.
My favorite kits to work on are the small kits. This baby is approximately 19 inches and weighs approximately 4 and 1/2 pounds. She wears newborn sizes very sweetly. The doll has full legs and 3/4 length arms. The arms are jointed and move very easily. The head has a neck ring and moves very easily from side to side. The legs, themselves, do not have the same movement and can be moved only slightly.
My favorite and first choice of my method for the hair is painted hair. Most of the brand newborns that I have observed have an almost balding look that sits very close to the scalp with lots of the precious head showing through. I've given Kase a beautiful and realistic head of baby fine painted hair. Lots of movement and fine baby hairs. I use a brush with only the fewest of bristles. It is perfect for someone that doesn't want to fuss with mohair and can put on lots of hats, caps and headbands.
I gave my angel the wispiest little rooted eyelashes, perfect for a newborn baby.
I weight my dolls with only high quality materials. Plastic poly pellets, fine glass beads and highquality fiber fill. The body is flesh colored and fits the kit very nicely. She is fantastic to hold and cuddle. I am always amazed at the realism that I achieve when I finish one of my little creations.
Some of the clothing that I have included in her layette do show a bit of the aarm caps. I've included a little white topper to put on top of these items.
I adore creating these dolls and price them very reasonably. One of the things that I love about Bountiful Baby doll kits is that there are no molded letters on the back of the doll's necks. The details of this little one are so sweet and amazing. I hold her in my arms and almost expect the eyes to open. The vinyl is soft and baby's fingers are flexible. She is a one of a king little treasure. Sold out now.
I have not given the doll any magnets. The doll is completed and I would be UNABLE to add any at this time. With this baby I preferred her with no magnets.
The baby's layette will include the clothing she is wearing. Obvious props are not included. I include a custom Certificate of Adoption with the name of your choosing for baby, the name of the adopting parent and weight and length details. I will include a care sheet with my suggestions for keeping baby in pristeen shape. The COA will be included.
