For your consideration is this amazing gorgeous reborn doll. She has been created by me from the limited edition sold out kit, Americus, sculpted by Laura Lee Eagles. The details on this doll are amazingly realistic. I adored working with the precious hands, feet and beautiful ears on her. I am always amazed by the beauty when I complete one of my babies and hold them in my arms. Americus takes my breath away. This reborn amazes even me and I've created her.

Americus has full limbs and an anatomically correct torso. I love to work on this type of kit as it has a cloth body which the limbs attach to and the full torso fits over the cloth body like a little turtle. Most of the cloth body is hidden by the full torso type plate. The doll poses like a little dream. Because of the full vinyl torso I was able to weight her to feel like a true little preemie. She weighs in at approximate 4 pounds and measures a tiny 18 inches. She can wear some preemie clothing but even they may be a bit big on this little angel girl.

I wanted to give the baby doll the very mottled skin tones of a very new baby. I has taken me layer upon layer upon layer to give her such realistic skin tones, and little baby bites and stork bites. I only use genesis heat set paints on my reborns as they actually bond to the vinyl and stay beautiful year after year. Baby has tiny capillaries and very subtle veining.

I tend to specialize in painted hair on my dolls, especially when I want I want them to represent a newborn. I wanted Americus to have a very balding baby down look on her precious head. It really took me longer to achieve this look than to paint a full head of hair. I did give her lots of little baby hairs onto her forehead and sides of her face. I loved the way her eyebrows turned out on her. I rooted her soft wispy eyelashes with the finest dark blonde mohair and wanted a very barely there look. Her eyelids have been glossed and her little lower lip was given a coat of baby tears. I put a tiny amount of baby tears in the inner corners of her eyes and a bit of moisture in her nostrils which were shaded for realism.

I use only fine quality items to stuff and weight my dolls. I use no sand at all. Limbs are weighted with fine glass beads (please use caution around small children and any chewing pets). The cloth bodyd has been weighted with plastic poly pellets and high quality fiber fill. The head is weighted with plastic poly pellets and fiber fill.

I was extremely pleased with the painting of her tiny finger and toe nails. It is a tedious and detailed part of reborning and all the time it took was worth it. She was given several layers of undertones where a baby's skin would look naturally thinner. I have not given her any magnets at all. She is not meant to be a playtoy for a small child and should be treated as a fine collectible.

I am always very generous with my doll's layettes. She will have all of the clothing shown and I will include some extras for her. I include my personal care sheet for keeping baby in pristine condition. Also included is a custom certificate of adoption which includes a watermark picture of the doll.
It will document the name of the adopting parent and the name you wish for the doll. Please advise me at the time of purchase what you would like on the cert. of adoption. Also included is the certificate of authenticity signed by Laura Lee Eagles.
