Hi; My name is Loraine and I am the artist for Butterfly Kisses and Ladybug hugs Nursery. I come from a family of artists and have been one myself for most of my life. Although I am new to reborning. I accidentally fell into reborning in 2013 when I decided I wanted some kind of baby mannequin to display my crochet baby clothes. I started looking on ebay, but I was not happy with my options. So I searched realistic baby doll. Can you guess what popped up? =) Reborns. I did eventually find a used reborn I liked and I bought her. That probably would have been the end of reborns for me but, My mother in law came over and fell in love with the reborn. So I decided to buy her one for Christmas. My daughter and I found one we liked for her and bought her. She came and my daughter opened the box. To our horror this "thing" looked nothing like her pictures. She looked like someone had smeared pink eye shadow all over her, her hair was awful and not sealed and well I could go on for days. To make a long story short my daughter encouraged me to re-reborn her and told me I sure couldn't make her worse. So I did. When my mother in law opened her on Christmas she was brought to tears and was instantly in love, and everyone in the room was shocked by how real she looked and felt. In the process of re-reborning this baby for my mother in law I fell in love with this art and the community of artists and collectors. I love seeing these little ones come alive and how different each one is. I love that this little piece of art can be enjoyed visually but also evokes your senses with the feel and smell of a real baby and brings great emotional enjoyment. I know what it's like to open a reborn and be disappointed to the point of tears. I promise to never misrepresent my babies. What you see in the photos is what you will see when you unveil your sweet baby. I take my photos in natural, florescent, UV and natural light. I only use new quality materials in my babies and everything is done with great care to ensure that with proper care your baby will be as beautiful as the day they arrived for years to come. I want the only tears shed when you open a box from my nursery to be tears of joy. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I would be happy to hear from you.
